Veganuary 2021 - 31 Plant-Based Disney Dishes To Try!

It is a new year and that means it is Veganuary! This month hundreds of thousands of people will be trying out a plant-based diet for the month of January.


If you are visiting Disney World as a vegan, on a plant-based diet or looking for some meat-free meals then check out my top 31 vegan Disney dishes for the 31 days of Veganuary!



1) Jungle Navigation Co. Skipper's Canteen, Magic Kingdom

The best restaurant for vegans at Magic Kingdom is Jungle Navigation Co. Skipper’s Canteen. With theming from The Jungle Cruise choose from a range of plant-based dishes such as the Fall's Family Falafels, Perkins Thai Noodles, Curried Vegetable Crew Stew and Panna-Connie's Congo Lime Delight.


2) Rosie's All-American Cafe, Hollywood Studios

A totally unique dish appeared on the menu at Rosie's All-American Cafe in 2020. The Toasted 'Lobster' Roll is made from marinated hearts of palm, celery, apple and a creamy old bay dressing. This seafood alternative dish comes with house-made potato chips.


3) City Works Eatery and Pour House, Disney Springs

Fancy a frickle? City Works Eatery and Pour House has a Fried Pickle option that is vegan without the ranch dressing or try their Kung Pao Cauliflower.


4) Yak & Yeti Restaurant, Animal Kingdom

Yak & Yeti Restaurant is one of the most popular restaurants in Animal Kingdom and serves delicious Asian cuisine. The vegan dishes here include the Roasted Vegetable Bowl and a Beyond Burger. You can also modify a range of dishes to make them vegan, just speak to the chef to request this. Dishes such as sweet and sour chicken and miso salmon can have the animal proteins swapped to tofu to make them plant-based on request.


5) Beaches and Cream Soda Shop, Beach Club Resort

Head to everyone's favourite spot for some non-dairy ice cream and it's famous milkshakes, vegan versions are available upon request. On the menu is a plant-based chili with tots and a totally unique dessert of cookie fries with a range of dips.


6) Hollywood & Vine, Hollywood Studios

Want to enjoy a character dining experience? Hollywood & Vine is one of only two locations inside Disney Parks currently offering character dining. This modified experience will allow you to meet Minnie and her friends in their seasonal costumes and take some physically distanced photos. Included is a three-course meal which comes with a Plant-Based Chopped Salad, followed by Pan-seared King Trumpet Mushrooms and a Plant-Based Cherry Lemon Pie for dessert.



7) Rose & Crown Dining Room, EPCOT

At the Rose & Crown Dining Room in the UK Pavilion enjoy a Savoury Impossible Hot Pot. Modify the following entrees to make them vegan; Bangers and Mash (swap to plant-based sausages), Fish and Chips (request vegan when ordering), Tofu Masala Curry (swap the chicken to tofu).


8) Liberty Tree Tavern, Magic Kingdom

If you are looking to try a traditional Thanksgiving type meal then head to Liberty Tree Tavern. This New England style restaurant serves a three course plant-based meal featuring the Declaration Salad, an Impossible Meatloaf with all the trimmings and Johnny Appleseed’s Warm Apple Cake. Best of all this meal is all-you-care-to-enjoy, so you can order more of your favourite dishes!


9) House of Blues Restaurant & Bar, Disney Springs

The Impossible Burger at House of Blues is frequently rated one of the best vegan burgers at Walt Disney World! This plant-based burger comes with vegan cheese and and can be supersized with two Impossible patties!


10) Kona Cafe, Polynesian Village Resort

Have breakfast at one of the most beautiful resorts at Disney World and try some Polynesian cuisine. There are two iconic dishes on the menu: the Plant-Based Loco Moco and Tonga Toast. Loco Moco is made with plant-based eggs, sausage, rice, coconut milk and pico de gallo. Tonga Toast, which is a banana stuffed bread which is battered and deep fried, can be made vegan on request. If you are visiting for lunch or dinner enjoy a Vegetable Bowl, made from a jasmine broth with glass noodles and pineapple tofu.


11) Tiffins Restaurant, Animal Kingdom

Serving beautiful African cuisine Tiffins Restaurant has a range of tasty vegan dishes. Start with a Tinga Taco, order the North African Spiced Tofu as your entrée and finish the meal off with the Passionfruit Tapioca Crème. Don't miss out of their Signature Bread Service which feature a range of breads and flavourful dips (specify for the bread service to be made vegan when ordering).


12) Whispering Canyon Cafe, Wilderness Lodge

Calling all fans of barbecue! Whispering Canyon Café is the restaurant for you! This restaurant is famous for its all-you-care-to-enjoy skillets and they have a plant-based version on the dinner menu! Come here to enjoy maple-chipotle barbecued jackfruit, spicy ‘sausage’, mustard glazed beefless tips, herb brushed chick’n, roasted potatoes and vegetable. Also available is a Pan-Fried Red Quinoa Cakes dish. If you stop by Whispering Canyon Cafe for breakfast be sure to order the Plant-Based Pepper Jack ‘Cheese’ Frittata. This hearty meal will certainly set you up right for the day!



13) Woody's Lunch Box, Hollywood Studios

The Modified Totchos at Woody's Lunchbox has become a fan favourite which sees potato barrels covered in vegan chili and vegan cheese. Also available is a Toasted ‘Cheddar’ Sandwich. This American classic comes with plant-based cheese.


14) The Crystal Palace, Magic Kingdom

Previously this character dining location served a buffet meal. The Crystal Palace recently reopened and whilst Winnie the Pooh and his friends are currently taking a break from meeting Guests the restaurant now offers a brand new set menu. The plant-based dishes are a Marinated Watermelon and Tomato Salad, Southern Fried Cauliflower and an Italian Strawberry Shortcake.


15) Topolino's Terrace, Riviera Resort

If you are looking for a character dining experience then head to Topolino's Terrace. At breakfast meet Mickey and his pals in their artist costumes and enjoy a totally vegan

Wild Mushroom Scramble. In the evening this restaurant turns to a fine dining service. Order the Olives Marinees or Beet Barigoule to start, the Tarbais Bean Cassoulet as a main and the Fruits of the Forest dessert all whilst looking out over Disney World Resort as this restaurant is on the top floor of the Riviera Resort. A perfect location for a sunset dinner.


16) ABC Commissary, Hollywood Studios

This quick service location has two vegan options on offer: the new Curry Rice Bowl with crispy marinated pineapple tofu or the California Burger with sriracha mustard and grilled peppers.




17) Erin McKenna's Bakery NYC, Disney Springs

A must visit for anyone with a sweet tooth! Everything in this bakery is vegan and gluten-free! Indulge in a range of cakes, pastries, ice creams, cupcakes and milkshakes. Anything sweet you crave will be found here!


18) Regal Eagle Smokehouse, EPCOT

Head to the America pavilion in EPCOT to try a BBQ Jackfruit Burger. The plant-based patty is topped with jackfruit in a BBQ sauce and vegan coleslaw. You can also order the Power Greens Salad and add BBQ jackfruit.


19) The Wave...of American Flavors, Contemporary Resort

An iconic plant-based breakfast is avocado toast and The Wave has a super tasty version on their breakfast menu. If you are visiting for dinner choose from a delicious Cauliflower Taco as your starter or the Tikka Masala curry as your entrée.


20) Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater, Hollywood Studios

For a really fun dining experience be sure to make a reservation at Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater. The theming is that of a drive-in movie theatre complete with booths that look like vintage cars! The vegan options here include the Island Cake, a plant-based version of a crab cake, the Flying Saucer Impossible Burger, which comes with a grilled portobello mushroom, cashew-mozzarella and a garlic-tomato aioli and the Cookie Shake. Yes a vegan milkshake!


21) Biergarten Restaurant, EPCOT

In the Germany pavilion you will find Biergarten Restaurant. The food here is served family-style, which means you get a platter of food to share. A vegan options is available on requests and comes with Beet Salad, Tomato and Cucumber Salad, Pretzel Rolls, Fishless Filets, Beefless Tips, Sauerkraut, Potato Wedges, Sautéed Vegetables, Enjoy Life Cookies and Fruit Compote.




22) Sa'tuli Canteen, Animal Kingdom

Head to Pandora and dine in Satu'li Canteen to try a fan favourite dish! At this quick service restaurant you get to build you own bowl by choosing a protein, a base and a sauce. For a totally vegan bowl order the Chili Spiced Crispy Fried Tofu with either the Sweet Potato Hash or Black Beans and Rice and the Charred Onion Vinaigrette.

23) Narcoossee's, Grand Floridian Resort

If you are looking for an upscale evening make a booking at Narcoossee’s. This fine dining restaurant has a variety of vegan options including the Barbecued Crispy Eggplant with red quinoa and cabbage slaw, an Endive and Pear Salad, Crispy Organic Tofu served with vegetables, heirloom grains rice and coconut masala or a Sweet Potato Gnocchi. For dessert be sure to try the Southern-style Carrot Cake.


24) Blaze Fast Fire'd Pizza, Disney Springs

At Blaze Fast Fire'd Pizza you can build your own pizza! This is a great way for everyone in your party to be able to custom make their own pizza to include all the toppings they love. Vegan cheese and vegan chorizo are available.


25) California Grill, Contemporary Resort

If you are looking for an elegant fine dining meal book in to California Grill. Here you can order a signature sushi dish called the Forbidden Roll, a seasonal plant-based pasta entrée and the fan favourite Plant-Based Blueberry Donuts for dessert.


26) Olivia's Cafe, Old Key West Resort

Visit this charming restaurant for breakfast and order Papa's Hash, tamari marinated tofu with roasted peppers, spinach and fried potatoes. If you visit later in the day you will find a Seasonal Market Salad and a Tropical Chocolate Tart on the menu all day long, with Miss Vickie’s Veggie Burger served at lunch and a West Indian Tofu and Coconut Curry served at dinner.


27) Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe, Magic Kingdom Looking for a quick bite to eat? Head to Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe in Frontierland to dine on some Mexican cuisine. The plant-based dish you will find here is a Veggie Rice Bowl, which comes with yellow rice, grilled peppers and onions, black beans, lettuce, tomato and salsa. You can also add a side of guacamole.



28) Sanaa, Animal Kingdom Lodge

Sanaa is a great restaurant for vegans! Be sure to try the famous Sanaa Bread Service! This dish is big enough to share and comes with 5 breads and 9 accompaniments. Simply order the vegan version to enjoy this iconic dish. For lunch and dinner there are samosas and a salad sampler to start with. For entrees choose between a Quinoa Vegetable Tabbouleh Salad, the Potje Inspired Harvest dish which comes with aloo masala, chickpea wat and cilantro coconut vegetable served with basmati rice or a Biriyani curry (this dish is only on the dinner menu). For dessert is Kheer, a coconut rice pudding with cashew streusel and saffron poached fruit to finish the meal off. At breakfast time Sanaa is a quick service restaurant and offers the unique Enriching Grains and Fruit dish. This hearty meal is made from mixed grains, South African rusk, seasonal fruit and a coconut milk yogurt.


29) Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo, Hollywood Studios

Whilst visiting Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge make sure you don't miss one of the best rated vegan options at Disney World. The Felucian Kefta and Hummus Garden Spread is made with plant-based meatballs, herb hummus and a tomato cucumber relish.

30) Grand Floridian Cafe, Grand Floridian Resort

If you are looking to dine in the beautiful, quaint setting of the Grand Floridian Resort then be sure to make a booking at the Grand Floridian Cafe. On the breakfast menu they have the vegan classic, Avocado Toast. This upscale version comes with fire-roasted tomatoes and microgreens served on a multigrain toast. Served all day is an Impossible Burger with caramelised onions and a plant-based smoked Gouda cheese. The Miso-Glazed Salmon can be made vegan by swapping the salmon to miso-glazed tofu, which comes with a ginger-soy vinaigrette. On the dinner menu you will find Grilled Romaine Market Salad.


31) Cinderella's Royal Table, Magic Kingdom

Looking for somewhere special to dine? What could be more impressive than to dine inside Cinderella Castle? The plant-based options on the menu include the Castle Salad, a Chickpea Panisse and a Coffee Pot de Crème.
