Over the past few years Disney have added so much Star Wars in the Disney Parks that it is now a must visit destination for all Star Wars fans!
Today we will look at just what and where you can find Star Wars at Walt Disney World!
Hollywood Studios
For everything Star Wars the Disney Park you want to visit us Hollywood Studios! Here you will find an entire land dedicated to Star Wars, including rides, restaurants, a bar and shops! You can also take part in incredible immersive experiences to build a lightsaber or a droid!
In this park you will also find a legendary ride, Star Wars character meet and greets and a fireworks show!
Galaxy's Edge
In August 2019 Galaxy's Edge opened in Hollywood Studios! Star Wars now has its own land in a Disney Park! Step into Batuu and visit the Black Spire Outpost.
There are two rides to enjoy in Galaxy's Edge: Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and Millenium Falcon: Smuggler's Run.
One of the most highly-themed and immersive rides ever seen at Disney World is Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.
In this spectacular and thrilling ride you get to help the Resistance fight against the First Order. This ride quickly gained the reputation as being one of the best Disney have ever made!
Not only is the ride itself incredible, but the queue has also become a massive part of the experience! There is no boring wait in line for this attraction! The entire queue experience is all part of the fun!
To ride this awesome attraction you need a boarding pass. You can join a virtual queue via the My Disney Experience App at 7am or 1pm daily to try to get your boarding passes. Once you have them you will be given a boarding group number. You will receive a notification once your group is boarding and can ride Rise of the Resistance!
At 7am you can join the virtual queue from anywhere. At 1pm you must be inside Hollywood Studios Park to join.
The other ride in Galaxy's Edge is Millenium Falcon: Smuggler's Run. This interactive simulator ride sends 6 people to fly the Millenium Falcon on a smuggling mission! Each person is given their own role and job to help operate the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy!
Experiences
Everything in Galaxy's Edge is incredibly immersive. As well as these two incredible rides you are able to take part in two amazing interactive experiences!
Book an appointment at Savi's Workshop and use 'scrap metal' to build your own lightsaber in this secret workshop to help continue the way of the Force.
This experience costs $199.99 plus tax and includes one lightsaber per builder per experience. You also receive a carrying case which is included in the price. Additional items to customise your lightsaber can be bought at Dok-Ondar's Den of Antiquities.
Be sure to visit Droid Depot to build own droid from scratch! Book an appointment and then chose the parts to build your own custom droid.
This experience costs $99.99 per droid plus tax, instructions and a carry box included. Personality-affliated chips and other accessories are available to purchase for an additional price.
Food and Drink
There are two quick-service restaurants available in Galaxy's Edge serving galactic fare.
Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo sells a range of dishes from across the Galaxy! Choose from dishes such as Batuuan Beef Pot Roast, Endorian Fried Chicken Yip Tip and Smoked Kaadu Pork Ribs. The plant-based Felucian Kefta and Hummus Garden Spread is often voted the best vegan dish at Hollywood Studios!
Ronto Roasters sells a wrap filled with pork and sausage. You can also buy a unique snack called Gamla Snack Sampler which is made from plantain, assorted root vegetable chips, pork rinds and rice crackers. Breakfast is also served here where you can enjoy a breakfast wrap or overnight oats.
For some galatic snacks visit Milk Stand to try the Blue Milk and Green Milk (alcholic versions also available) and Kat Saka's Kettle for Galactic Grains AKA popcorn with sweet and spicy flavours.
There is also a highly themed bar with amazing, spectacular looking drinks that are out of this world! Book a reservation to visit Oga's Cantina and soak up the atmosphere and enjoy music from the droid DJ R-3X!
Merchandise
This is also a huge range of shops available. In Black Spire Outfitters you can purchase Star Wars apparel and accessories.
Creature Stall is the place to head for all your Star Wars creature plushes and toys!
Visit Toydarian Toymaker for hand-crafted toys and collectibles.
Show your allegiance to the First Order and visit First Order Cargo where you can buy all your First Order gear and supplies.
Or show your support of the Resistance at Resistance Supply for Resistance gear and supplies.
For all your Star Wars merch needs be sure to visit Dok-Ondar's Den of Antiquities which has a bit of everything you could wish for!
Star Wars Launch Bay
At Animation Courtyard in Hollywood Studios you will find the Star Wars Launch Bay and Star Wars Launch Bay Theater. Here you can meet and greet with characters such as Kylo Ren and Chewbacca as well as see props from the films.
The Star Wars Launch Bay also has a shop, Launch Bay Cargo, which sells replica props, autographed memorabilia, print-on-demand phone cases and life-size sculptures. There are some really impressive pieces of merchandise here so it is a must-visit!
Star Tours Ride
Star Tours - The Adventures Continue is the classic Disney Star Wars attraction! On this simulator ride have R2-D2 and C3PO take you on a turbulent trip across the galaxy!
This attraction first opened at Disney World in 1989. The reimagined version, which you can enjoy now, opened in 2011.
Food and Merch at Echo Lake
There is still more Star Wars to be found at Hollywood Studios! Head to Echo Lake where you will find Tatooine Trader's. Here you can buy a range of Star Wars merchandise and build your own lightsaber and droid!
For some Star Wars themed food make a trip to Backlot Express for the Tatooine Two Suns dish. Enjoy two type of hummus with crispy chickpeas, salad and pita bread. A great refreshing plant-based meal on a hot day or a perfect snack to share between two people!
Star Wars Firework Show and Dessert Party
Star Wars: A Galactic Firework Spectacular is a state-of-the-art projection, light, laser and pyrotechnics show that is set to the iconic Star Wars music by John Williams. The best way to finish a Star Wars themed day at Hollywood Studios!
Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular Dessert Party allows you to enjoy the Star Wars: A Galactic Firework Spectacular from a private, reserved viewing area whilst enjoying Star Wars themed desserts and drinks!
Firework shows and dessert parties are temporarily suspended but I look forward to when they can return!
Disney Springs
Outside of the Disney Parks you can get Star Wars merchandise from a range of locations in Disney Springs.
Head to The LEGO Store for some awesome Star Wars Lego sets! At the Star Wars Galactic Outpost you will find a range of toys, apparel and collectibles or head to Star Wars Trading Post for more merch plus the chance to build your own lightsaber and droid!
Disney Character Warehouse
If you are looking for some bargains head to the Orlando Premium Outlet. There is one on Vineland Avenue in Lake Buena Vista, just outside of Walt Disney World Resort, and another on International Drive.
In these outlet malls you will find the Disney Character Warehouse. Here you will find big discounts on official Disney merchandise, include Star Wars! Sometimes you will even find items that are still on sale in the Disney Parks but with big reductions here!
Star Wars Rival Run Weekend
Star Wars Half Marathon - Star Wars Rival Run Weekend offers a range of Star Wars themed races over the course of a weekend.
Choose to take part in a 5K, 10K or half marathon.
There are also a number of challenges, where you combine races over the weekend. The Star Wars Rival Run challenge sees you take part in a 10K and a half marathon over 2 days. The Kessel Run challenge sees you take part in two half marathons!
The whole family can be involved as there are also a selection of children's races! Choose from the kids dashes which are made up of a 100 meter dash for 1 - 4 year olds, a 200 meter dash for 5 - 8 year olds and a Diaper Dash for Crawlers for ages 12 months and under. There is also a one mile run for children aged 4 - 13 years old.
All participants receive a commemorative medal as well as other goodies!
This year a virtual version of this event is taking place from April 15 -18th 2021.
As well as taking part in a super fun event you will also be doing good as Disney make a donation to Make-A-Wish!

Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser Resort
In 2021 a new resort will be opening at Walt Disney World. The Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser Resort will be unlike anything we have ever seen! This is one of the most highly anticipated new openings at Walt Disney World and will be out of this world!
A stay at this resort will give you an immersive 3 day, 2-night experience unlike anything you will have ever experienced!
Step into a launch pod and be transported to the Starcruiser, known as The Halcyon, for a luxury stay in a galaxy far far away.
Instead of windows the Starcruiser is fitted with screens, enabling you to look out across the galaxy. From the moment you step into this resort you will be transported into the Star Wars realm. This isn't just a resort stay, it is an experience!
The Starcruiser offers incredible immersive theming and you can also learn to use a lightsaber, help to operate the navigational systems under the watchful eye of the crew at The Bridge and go behind the scenes and visit The Engineering Room to see how a galactic cruiser operates. There is also expected to be a highly themed dinner show for guests to enjoy.
As well as getting to enjoy everything the resort has to offer guests will also have their own entrance directly into Star Wars Galaxy's Edge at Hollywood Studios.
A stay at the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser Resort is going to be a must do, once in a lifetime trip for any Star Wars fans!

Disney World have really expanded the Star Wars universe at Disney World in the past few years and there are now so many amazing, exciting and immersive elements to enjoy! A visit to Hollywood Studios and Galaxy's Edge is now a must visit for destination for Star Wars fans!
