Avoid These! The 5 Most Overrated Disney World Restaurants!

With so many amazing options for dining at Disney World just what restaurants don't live up to the hype? Which ones don't offer good value for money? Which should you avoid?

Here are the 5 most overrated restaurants at Disney World!

Chef Mickey's

Chef Mickey's has become an iconic restaurant due to its close proximity to Magic Kingdom and the fact you can meet Mickey and his pals at this character dining meal at the Contemporary Resort! Unfortunately, the food isn't the best and because of its popularity it can seem more like an exercise in getting a lot of people in to dine quickly rather than providing a good level of service.

For a great character dining meal with Mickey head to Topolino's Terrace for breakfast!

Akershus Royal Banquet Hall

This EPCOT restaurant became a popular alternative to Cinderella's Royal Table because it is slightly cheaper, easier to get reservations for and you get to meet Disney Princesses. However the character interactions aren't the best. They are very short, just a quick picture and a sentence, rather than the awesome conversations you get to have at character dining experiences like at 1900 Park Fare.

Sadly the food is terrible! I am a big fan of Scandinavian food and was super excited to dine here. The food was cold and left me feeling ill. Unfortunately this was not only the worst meal I have had at Disney World by far, but one of the worst meals I've ever had!

If you want a Princess character dining experience then Story Book Dining at Artist's Point with Snow White is the best option! If you would like to see multiple princesses then it is worth trying to get a reservation for Cinderella's Royal Table where to food is better and you get to dine inside Cinderella Castle!

Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe

People love the theming of this quick service location in Tomorrowland. Plus you get to see the original character Sonny Eclipse! The nostalgia at this restaurant is strong but sadly the food is just typical theme park fare. There is nothing too exciting or particularly good to eat. Pop in here to enjoy some entertainment but skip the dining!

For good quick service dining in Magic Kingdom visit Peco Bill's Tall Tale Inn and Cafe or Columbia Harbour House.

Be Our Guest Restaurant

Be Our Guest is one of the most stunning restaurants at Disney World. Getting to dine in the famous ballroom from Beauty and the Beast is magical.

The reason this dining location is overrated is that the cost of the meal isn't justified by what you receive. To dine here costs $62 per person. The menu is French-inspired and can be hit or miss. The portions are small and with the fare not being to everyone's taste this is a very pricey meal just to sit in a lovely room.

For some great table service dining in Magic Kingdom visit Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen if you are looking for some exotic flavours or The Crystal Palace for some great American fare.

D-Luxe Burger

Everyone loves a good burger! This quick service location at Disney Springs offers a whole range of different burgers with interesting toppings. The downside is once you add fries and a drink this quick service meal ends up more expensive than table service burgers! A burger with fries and a drink can easily cost $25 per person here!

For an awesome burger at Disney Springs check out House of Blues Restaurant & Bar. It also will cost you less!

Disney World likes to make sure their guests have the best time when they visit and that includes when dining. With over 200 restaurants to choose from there is something for everyone and typically the food is really good! The restaurants on this list don't necessarily serve bad food (apart from you Akershus!) but sometimes what you get isn't worth the price.

I hope you've found this helpful and have found some good alternatives to these overrated eaterys!
