What You Need To Pack For a Disney World Trip Now

When Walt Disney World reopened earlier this year things were slightly different to how they used to be. Here are all the items you will now need to pack for a visit to Walt Disney World.

Park Pass Reservations

As well as valid park tickets you now need Park Pass reservations to gain entry to the parks. They are super easy to book via My Disney Experience.

As soon as you have purchased your Disney World tickets link them to your My Disney Experience account and then book your Park Pass reservations to make sure you can visit all the parks you wish to enjoy.

If you are thinking of booking a trip you can check the availability for the Park Pass reservations here. This is a super helpful tool to easily see how busy the parks may be during your visit.

Face Coverings

An absolute must for any upcoming trips! Face coverings are required at all times across Walt Disney World Resort, except when actively eating, drinking or swimming.

It is recommended to bring a few different face coverings in case they need changing throughout the day.

Disney have their own range of face coverings you can buy, so you can show off your love for your favourite characters and rides!

Hand Sanitizer

Disney have provided lots of hand washing stations and hand sanitizer all around but it is always advisable to have some of your own for those moments where you might need it.

Dining Reservations

With less restaurants currently open, and with less tables available, it is strongly recommended to book your dining reservations in advance.

There are so many amazing restaurants in Disney World that have reopened. If Disney dining is a big part of your trip then be sure to book all your reservations as soon as you can!

You can book your dining reservations 60 days in advance of your trip. If you are staying on site at a Disney Resort you can book your dining reservations for your whole trip (up to 10 days) in one go! If you are staying off site you can book reservations for each day of your trip exactly 60 days in advance.

Visit the dining section of the Disney World website to see which restaurants are open, view their menus and make your reservations.

Contactless Payment

Disney are encouraging guest to use cashless forms of payment, such as debit or credit cards, Magic Bands or gift cards. Cash can be exchanged into gift cards are select locations in the parks.

My Disney Experience App

The My Disney Experience App now has more features than ever and is super helpful for any trip in this current time.

Some of the features available are a virtual key so you can enter your room without having to visit the front desk of your resort, booking dining reservations, joining the virtual queue for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance in Galaxy's Edge and for mobile ordering at certain restaurants.

Many quick service locations now have mobile ordering enabled to reduce contact and promote physical distancing.

Mobile ordering is super easy to use. You just open the app, select mobile ordering, the restaurant you wish to order from, the time you wish to eat and then select all the food and drinks you would like. When your order is ready you will get a notification and can collect your food. Easy!

A select number of table service restaurants now also offer mobile ordering! This is a great new addition to the Disney dining experience and is fabulous if the restaurant you want to dine in doesn't have any reservations available or if you would like to just relax and eat in your resort room after a long day!

Another new feature that is now offered on the My Disney Experience app is the ability to join a virtual queue when walking up to a restaurant without a reservation.

Simply open the app and select the restaurant you wish to dine in. The walk up wait time will then be shown and you will then have the option to join the virtual queue. This is a super handy feature for people who haven't booked dining reservations in advance and helps enable physical distancing as people no longer need to crowd into the foyer of the restaurant.
